Kampong Chronicles

"Frayed Edges of a Kampong" is the first book in the "Kampong Chronicles" series. This will be a series of historical novels set in the former Dutch East Indies, focusing not on the Dutch, but on the indigenous people.

The first book in the series was published in February 2026. Work on the second book is currently underway. The goal is to submit it to the publisher in the last quarter of this year and then hopefully release it in the first quarter of 2027.

The first and second books in the series are set in Java. The third book will follow Asmina's daughter Moenah to the Moluccas.

The series is intended to cover the entire archipelago, from Aceh at the tip of Sumatra to Irian Jaya, formerly New Guinea.
Quite ambitious, I realize. But maybe I'll live to be 120 and actually be able to do all that.
